| There are millions of Filipinos working abroad today. They want to work abroad to earn money and to escape the hard economic problems in the Philippines. This is easy to understand because its hard to find a job that pays well in the Philippines. They leave their familys in the Philippines to find their good luck in other countries. But there's lot of them dont have good luck working abroad, some of them have been treated so badly from their employer.
As Filipinos we really need to consider if being taken away from our family's for years at a time to fill a contract in another country is really more benefit than trying to get a job in a local area we leave and help our family's while we are near them. But we cant blame those people who are trying to get out of their own country and choose to work abroad eventhough they dont know how it will be like if they arrived in the other country that they want to work in. We called those Filipinos working abroad as OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) whom they said are the new Heroes in our country. They are doing their best just to provide the needs of their family back in the Philippines. They work so hard with their blood and sweat just to give what their family needs. They sent money to their family to help and support them. From what I've seen, it really happens to all Filipinos who work abroad. As we all know that working abroad and being far from their loved ones is so hard because you will feel so lonely and most of the time you will be homesick for the country you live in. We heard a lot of OFW stories that were treated poorly in the other countries. But there is a lot of them too that are successful. It's not easy to work abroad specially if you dont have enough knowledge and skills. You need to be wise and be alert to the surroundings you are into. And if you are planning to work abroad of course you need to make sure all your papers are legal because illegal papers give u big trouble when the problem arises. There are a lot of Filipino workers that come to the other countries with their illegal papers. So the result, when they arrived in another country, on top of that, Many times the job they expect is not the one they get. People working abroad always hoping that they can make it through the end of their contract so that they can go back safe to their love ones at the Philippines.
