| Proud to be Pinoy! Yes that’s what I feel, I am so proud of being what I am and always proud to the place where I came from Davao, Philippines. Right now I’m here in Colorado, USA living with my husband and son. Even I’m far away from the country I came from but still being what I am as a Filipino is always remain on me specially the attitude and personality of being Pinoy. Filipino people have these kind of personality that is so hospitable to others, very polite and in good manners. They are also family oriented, no wonder some Americans wants to have a Filipina wife, coz they believe that having a Filipina wife could make their love life more better than ever. Filipina is so devoted to their love ones also to their family. They get stick to it and live up on it. They are hardworking too and even how hard the life is, they still keep remain strong and trying more hard to make it better.
In every part of the country, you will see all the Filipino people working. They are all over the world. Try to make their life better, find their luck to that place. Most of them treated so badly in their employers, others been so lucky coz they find a good job and they live on that country for good for about so many years. That’s what I like of being Pinoy coz they are strong enough to fight for their rights specially if some people treated them bad. Even how far they are they never forget to think about their family back in the Philippines. They send “pasalubong” and keep that communication alive. And when they see someone that same as them (other Filipino people) they can easily notice it right from the start. They never forget to say “Hi, kumusta to their kababayan’s. Even they don’t know that person so much, but the attitude of being Pinoy is there as being polite and friendly trying to show what good attitude Filipino people has. Here in Colorado, I only seen few Filipino people that live here. They said that there is a Filipino community out here, but I don’t know where it is. Everytime I seen some Filipino I really feel so glad and happy, coz im thinking “oh! I am not the only Filipino that lives on this country”, so it makes me feel good to know that there are someone out there that same as me that wants to meet new Filipino friends. Coz its nice if you met someone that speak the same language as you are and make friends to them too. So on that way you will not feel lonely and being homesick to the country you came from. And you know what I really like of being Pinoy that really makes me proud? Because Filipino are so unique in everything both inside and out. The food was great and different, I missed all the food in there specially the manga with “uyap“ saws wan (shrimp paste) hehe J, dried fish (daing) and a lot more. The tradition and culture are rich and they have good weather too. I missed my country and my family but no worries now, coz I will gonna come back there this September!, so see you all there! Love yah!
